Who cares when she's potty independent?

I think I just had a breakthrough in my attitude regarding EC! I think the "goal" the whole time has been to have Hannah out of diapers and always peeing and pooping in a potty. It just hit me tonight that that will come in due time, and like everything, I just need to enjoy her where she is right now. One day she'll eat with a spoon (without making a mess!) and dress herself and take herself potty. For now, she does what she does. Ah, what a relief to have that realization!

A new milestone!

Oh, today something very cool happened! Hannah gestured that she had to go potty, and I put her on the potty, and she went! Poop, even! Lately she's been gesturing (by touching her diaper or training pants) but then doesn't go when I put her on the potty. This is the first time she's coordinated those two! We've had a ton of poop misses lately, too, so it was doubly cool! It's neat to see her developing! (Not EC related, but at the moment, she is holding my phone up to her ear and talking. She hasn't done that before. They learn so quickly! And they're so darn cute!)

Night time EC is still a challenge. I just figured out that our night time routine (EC-wise, that is) changes every 5 nights or so. I just have to accept it! I wasn't too pleased about that this morning, when I got flooded by a leaky diaper. I did congratulate her on holding it so long, though! I haven't figured out yet what we'll do tonight. I still have three or so hours!

Despite misses, I know she's getting it!

One cool thing this week: yesterday when Hannah woke from her nap, she just walked straight to our potty area, I picked her up, put her on her potty, and she went! That's the first time she's done anything like that! Yippee!!

Getting tired of poopy diapers

I don't know why Hannah continues to poop in her diapers! It's kind of frustrating when I think about the many many times she has pooped in a potty! (So I try not to think that way!) Something's going on. She did have three poops that made it in the potty this week, though, so I am happy about that! Twice this week I just wanted to throw the diaper away, since I'm getting tired of rinsing them out. I might look into getting a diaper sprayer! I talk about it and I know she understands a lot of what I say, so I'm encouraged and hopeful that she'll stop pooping in her pants again one day soon!
